A summer that counts: languages, sport and outdoor experiences in nature

Summer can be much more than a break in the school calendar. It can also become an opportunity to practise language, gain independence, make new friends and enjoy memorable experiences. In such an exceptional setting as Andorra, surrounded by mountains, unique landscapes, nature and fresh air, a summer camp such as Summer Camp Andorra has a special value for both children and teenagers.

This camp at Agora Andorra International School has been created to provide an educational, active and international experience in the heart of nature. It is a programme designed so that pupils can enjoy their holidays while continuing to learn in a different, more motivating, practical and experiential way, suited to their age and interests.

Summer Camp Andorra, much more than a summer camp

Choosing a summer camp is not always easy. Naturally, families want their children to be well looked after, have fun, make the most of their time and enjoy a positive, enriching and safe experience. At Agora Andorra International School, our Summer Camp brings all these aspects together in an organised, flexible programme adapted to different age groups.

Our school offers programmes for pupils aged 8 to 15, both as a day camp and with boarding. This means each family can choose the option that best suits their needs: either a daily summer experience during the holidays or a more complete immersion, including accommodation and daily life with other participants.

Our boarding option allows pupils to experience this international camp in a more immersive way. For many children and teenagers, spending a few days away from home in a carefully supervised environment is an important step in their personal development. As well as improving their language skills, they learn to organise themselves, live with others, follow routines and build self-confidence.

Languages in a real and natural context

One of the great strengths of our Summer Camp in Andorra is the way languages are part of everyday life. Participants practise English, French and Spanish through dynamic classes and activities, quite different from a purely academic experience. In summer, learning feels different. In a language camp, pupils listen, speak, play, ask questions and communicate in real situations. This natural approach helps them lose their fear, improve fluency and understand language as a useful tool for connecting with others.

In addition, sharing activities with classmates from different backgrounds encourages an open mindset. Children discover that languages help them collaborate, make friends, solve everyday situations and take part in shared experiences. This learning, although it may seem simple, often has a very positive impact on their confidence when communicating.

Sport, adventure and nature in Andorra

Andorra offers a privileged setting for a summer camp. The mountains, open spaces and wide variety of outdoor activities allow pupils to stay active while enjoying the natural environment.

In line with our commitment to pupils’ overall wellbeing through sport, our Summer Camp Andorra programme includes a broad range of sporting activities. From hiking, rafting and climbing to water activities, excursions and karting, as well as outdoor games and themed workshops. This variety means every day is different and participants can take on new challenges suited to their age.

At Agora Andorra International School, we believe that sport and adventure offer benefits that go far beyond physical exercise. They help develop cooperation, perseverance, emotional management and confidence. This idea is aligned with the recommendations of the World Health Organization on the importance of physical activity for children and adolescents, especially during key stages of growth. In a mountain activity, an excursion or a team challenge, pupils learn to listen, make decisions and support their classmates. After months of lessons, screens and set routines, summer is also a good time to reconnect with movement, play and curiosity.

All of this fits very well with what many families look for when planning holidays in Andorra with children in summer: nature, safety, outdoor activities and experiences that also provide educational value.

Summer Camp Andorra

Programmes adapted by age

Not all children experience summer in the same way. That is why the Summer Camp at Agora Andorra International School organises its activities according to the age and stage of development of each participant.

For pupils aged 8 to 11, we offer the Explorers Camp, where the focus is on exploration, creativity, play and discovery. At these ages, imagination, curiosity and the need for movement play an essential role. The activities allow children to learn while enjoying themselves.

For pupils aged 12 to 15, the Pioneers Camp includes activities designed for teenagers who are looking for greater independence, challenges and shared experiences. Adventure activities, language practice and boarding life help strengthen personal skills that are especially valuable at this stage: responsibility, initiative, communication and teamwork.

In this way, each pupil finds their place within the camp and enjoys an experience suited to their interests.

In short, the Summer Camp at Agora Andorra International School is an opportunity for children and teenagers to enjoy an active, international and enriching summer, with languages, sport, nature and shared experiences in a unique setting. The programme is open to both school pupils and external students, with day camp and boarding options available for one, two or three weeks in July.
