The boarding house has a cleaning and laundry service, and room set aside for quiet study. Students eat and dine at the main school and have their breakfast and a snack at the boarding house. The house has a fantastic outdoor patio with stunning views, a basketball hoop and a barbecue, and there is a comfortable and homely communal area equipped with a television, table football, ping pong and dartboard.
Students at the international residence are looked after by full time members of staff, who live at the house and who are available 24 hours a day. Two tutors are always on hand; one who is in charge of academic performance and another who is responsible for pastoral care.
Agora Andorra International School’s residential facility enables boarders to work, study and spend their recreational time with students from many different nationalities, which provides enormous advantages for personal, social and cultural development. Boarders have access to our multilingual education programme, with daily immersion in Spanish, English and French, and can sit for officially recognised language exams. Boarders can also sign up for our high-performance sports programmes in order to combine their academic studies with exceptionally high-quality sports training.
Agora Andorra International School’s boarding facility is open to students aged from 9 to 18 years old and students can register for a full academic year or for just one or two terms. Agora Andorra International School offers an innovative, international curriculum designed to promote respect, peaceful coexistence and commitment to the community.
Our boarding house enables overseas students to enjoy all the benefits of studying in Andorra. The school’s residential accommodation is located in the heart of the Pyrenees at an altitude of 1,250 metres above sea level and just 10 minutes from the ski slopes. Our boarders are looked after by two tutors, one in charge of academic performance and the other addressing each student’s pastoral needs, including living arrangements, extracurricular activities and their general happiness and well-being. The school maintains constant communication with students’ families.
We promote a multilingual approach; Spanish is the common language, with students also speaking and studying in English and French. Language classes are taught by native and bilingual teachers, and pupils get the opportunity to sit official language exams and/or study for the Spanish-American Dual High School Diploma. Pupils also study Catalan, Andorra’s official language, from Early Years to Post 16. Our boarding students also have access to our high-performance sports programmes, where we can individually tailor their schedules to allow high-performance athletes to achieve their academic goals, whilst simultaneously enabling them to complete the training necessary to fulfil their sporting potential.
After their school day, from 5:00 p.m. until dinner time, residential students participate in directed study, sports or activities, and revision classes are available for students who want to improve their academic performance.
At weekends, boarders can either hang out at the house, or participate in guided study sessions, sports activities and cultural outings.
